Completely co-ordinates all activities related to various promotional/marketing campaigns. Co-ordinates, develops and implements all marketing campaigns and promotional activities to support the Corporate Marketing Department. Provides expert advice on existing possibilities in market sectors and districts.

Has extensive knowledge of clients, competitors and local economic conditions and forecasts; recognizes the market development potential for the sales force, carries out market studies to determine the division's competitive fields.

Works with the Financial Services Line of Business and Product Management teams and/or with the management of professional and sector groups in order to adapt promotion of product and service requirements to various target audiences (business or consumers).


Responsibilities:

Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Officer, Market Campaign Development.

  • Assesses marketing campaigns/initiatives proposed by Marketing or Product Management and determines their feasibility with the Director of Marketing.
  • Develops various promotional marketing campaigns. Prepares proposals and briefing documents for approval by marketing senior management.
  • Recommends programs and campaigns and ensures that these correspond to business objectives.
  • Is responsible for the quality of work done by agencies and for all activities related to projects in progress, i.e. overseeing budgets, approving texts, advanced layouts, camera ready, approving proofs and ensuring distribution.
  • Participates in project/campaign planning and implementation; monitors performance against plans.
  • Compiles results and shares with marketing team and all involved stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities (continued):


  • Recommends corrective actions for various programs.
  • Provides program/campaign details to the appropriate channels of communication.
  • Works closely with the database analyst to develop campaigns and ensure its integrity.
  • Undertakes and follows up on local market research activities and ensures maximum reliability of market information.
  • Supervises and assesses competitors' activities in order to identify any threats or breakthroughs to be explored.
  • Prepares marketing analysis for the division and recommends alternative ways of improving campaign results.

Qualifications:


Education

  • Completed postsecondary, preferably in a related field OR a combination of equivalent professional experience and training

Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant functional experience
  • One or more years of experience in a unionized environment an asset
  • Proficient computer skills and competent with Microsoft Office programs
  • Enrollment in specific designation and or certifications programs may be required for certain positions (e.g. Marketing).
  • Strong communication, analytical, and customer service skills
