The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a
Supervisor, Production (Shaft Planner) to join our team at
Garson Mine in
Sudbury, Ontario. This is a permanent position.


The job holder will continuously improve the work team performance through effective use of established processes and procedures in achieving assigned objectives.

Improve the effectiveness of the front-line team while meeting the business objectives. This includes ensuring the completion of assigned work with consistency and accuracy. These positions are located at our mines within the Sudbury basin.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • The hours are steady days, Monday-Friday (8hour shifts)
  • Hold team accountable for safety, behavior, housekeeping, teamwork, and professionalism
  • Execute the "Planning and Provisioning" element of the process for all types of work orders systematic and nonsystematic maintenance. This includes shutdown (PMP) and external resource related work.
  • Coordinate and facilitate all required planning/scheduling routines.
  • Review and promote/reject all new notifications into your work center through the group approval process.
  • Ensure work orders are planned and ready to be executed prior to the required end date as determined through the notification.
  • Work within assigned budgets and escalate to management should a budget be exceeded.
  • Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful execution of work orders for completion by their Required End Date.
  • Manage backlog to ensure work orders are planned based off priority and required end date.
  • Communicate and coordinate with procurement partners to ensure requisitioned items arrive as scheduled.
  • Create and update task lists to capture routine work and efficiencies.
  • Monitor KPIs and actively strive toward plant targets.
  • Carryout tasks as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designate to achieve the desired results within an agreed upon timeline and end state
  • Foster a climate of safety, mutual trust, and respect among all members of his/her team
  • Work collectively with peers and cross functionally with colleagues in engineering, geology, maintenance, and services to achieve the objectives of the mine
  • Focus on results

About You

Education:


  • Grade 12 level education or GED equivalency is required.
  • Common Core: First Line Underground Mine Supervisor Common Core or Common Core for First Line Production Supervisor Underground Hard Rock Mining is an asset.
