Agency Assistant 1.0 EFT Permanent
**(Internal / External Posting; starting as soon as possible.)
The Agency Assistant at NorWest Co-op Community Health will provide reception and
administrative support to a multidisciplinary team including agency partners. The Agency
Assistant will greet and welcome all visitors and community members to NorWest Co-op
Community Health, and assist and support people accessing services.
Primary hours:
Monday to Friday, with rotation of hours starting at either 9:00am or 11:00am
until 5:00pm or 7:00pm respectively. Occasional Saturday shift. Applicants must be available
for hours as noted.
**QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of high school education required. Postsecondary education in working
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum oneyear experience in a multidisciplinary health setting preferred.**
- Reception or clerical/administrative experience an asset.**
- Experience with Accuro EMR and training in medical terminology an asset.**
- Excellent computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.**
- Ability to operate information technology required.**
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.**
- Excellent telephone skills (answering, transferring, professional phone etiquette).**
- Knowledge of community development principles & practices.**
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.**
- Strong communication and problemsolving skills.**
- Ability to work well within an interdisciplinary team in a variety of settings.**
- Knowledge and experience with diverse cultures; economic & health backgrounds.**
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.**
- Child/elder abuse and criminal records check required.*****RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greets, assists, and directs visitor arrivals or phone calls promptly.
- Act as a safe and friendly presence in the reception area and building.
- Informs staff of client and visitor arrivals, and schedules appointments.
- Coordinating the arrangement, relocation, and distribution of onsite equipment,
- Verifies or creates client information accurately in electronic medical record.
- Monitor and assist with client flow to exam rooms and offices.
- Support people with access to and use of computers.
- Deescalate volatile situations if and when they occur.
