Purpose


This role contributes to the overall success of Global Banking & Markets (GBM) Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM), ensuring specific goals, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.

Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

This role will work closely with the Senior Manager, Program Risk Management & Strategy and the VP, Head of Europe FCRM, as well as key stakeholders on high priority requests, initiatives, executive level reporting, policy advisory and training.


Key Accountabilities

  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Communicates with multiple levels of business stakeholders and prepare documentation to capture requirements and understand business needs.
  • Works closely with the Senior Manager and the GBM FCM Leadership Team on:
  • Regional, Enterprise and Board level committee reporting;
  • Quarterly and annual planning activities, including strategy and goal setting, and employee engagement initiatives;
  • Works with the GBM CAMLO to plan and execute Quarterly Town Halls and communication efforts;
  • Lead efforts to demonstrate and enhance effective GBM CAMLO oversight and governance of the program.
  • Supports the Europe FCRM program in maintaining an effective program, including:
  • Developing and preparing presentations and providing timely support for the creation of working group and committee materials, as required.
  • Tracking key program deliverables, including issue resolution and BAU activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience

  • University degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting, or Finance is desirable
  • 3+ years of banking or financial services experience, preferably within a risk management function, including experience in developing management reports;
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) experience;
  • Advanced SharePoint site management experience;
  • ACAMS designation or equivalent preferred;
  • Ability to synthesize information and summaries in a clear and concise manner and adapt communications to management;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to deliver results in a fastpaced, challenging and dynamic business environment;
  • Prior exposure to a control environment in risk management, compliance, or audit;
  • Strong knowledge of GBM businesses, products, operations, systems, and organization; and
  • Strong Knowledge of FCRM regulatory requirements and expectations.
