Applications are invited for a Full Time Professor, Culinary Chef within the Division of Culinary, Tourism and Beverage Studies at Niagara College located at the Daniel J.

Patterson campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake. This position will commence August 2023.

The Professor position is responsible for providing academic leadership and developing an effective and inclusive learning environment for students.

This includes designing, revising, and updating courses/curriculum; teaching assigned courses; consulting with stakeholders (faculty, community, and industry partners); defining course objectives and evaluating student comprehension of objectives; utilizing a variety of instructional media/resources; and providing individualized instruction where appropriate.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary.


Required Qualifications:


  • Provincial Red Seal designation for Cook and/or Culinary postsecondary credential(s)
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive culinary employment experience in a variety of industrial contexts
  • Minimum two (2) years of postsecondary teaching experience in Culinary
  • Demonstrated studentcentred approach to contemporary instructional design appropriate to exceptional vocational education in Culinary
  • Demonstrated collegial collaborative approach to team membership and leadership
  • Excellent written/oral communication, organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Evidence of commitment to student success and academic excellence
  • Demonstrated networking skills with a variety of stakeholders within the field of expertise
  • A completed postsecondary credential in Education or Adult Education
  • Additional professional specialized certifications or qualifications in Culinary or Hospitality Management
  • Industry accolades, honours and accomplishments of professional significance
  • Experience leading/designing College initiatives, events or services
  • Demonstrated interest in specialized issues related to contemporary higher education (e.g., internationalization, applied research, assessment and evaluation, learning accommodations/learner diversity, vocational/technical education models, among others)
