The Corporate Technical Services Group provides technical support, optimization, and innovation to the Miller Group of Companies involving hot mix asphalt, aggregates, laboratory testing, and cold processes.

The IRI Technician will be responsible for measuring, analysing and reporting International Roughness Index traces of pavement lifts on projects and job sites to support our operational groups.

Supplementary to this role, the technician will support the Technical Services group with administrative and research duties as assigned; as well as supporting the GTA Quality Control, as a technician in the field or within the laboratory and testing duties as assigned.


As an IRI Technician, You Will:

  • Abide by Certification of Recognition (COR) / safety documents in compliance with all safety guidelines, pertinent to the work performed
  • Ensuring compliance to Miller Paving Ltd. Quality Manual and QMS pertinent to the work performed
  • Overlooking measurements to insure accuracy and completeness; data entry and review
  • Ensuring and unbiased testing environment in compliance with the quality manual and other regulatory requirements
  • Conducting all measuring, transfer and management of all IRI data
  • Conducting and ensuring ongoing maintenance, calibration and tracking of IRI measurements and associated equipment
  • Identify, investigate & report all nonconformances
  • Support technical services staff with administrative, research and duties as assigned
  • Support GTA Quality Control staff by working as a technician in the field or in the laboratory and duties as assigned

What You'll Bring:


  • Strong background of mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft office
  • Clean drivers abstract and valid drivers license
  • Work well in a team environment and able to work toward common goals
  • Must be able to work with mínimal supervision
  • Ability to effectively organize workload and manage time to meet deadlines
  • Able to lift 50lbs and perform manual labour
  • Strong oral and written communication & organizational skills
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and outside normal business hours
