Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Implement best practices and drive innovative solutions to improve production output with quality as the backbone. Deliver on priorities in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and cash (SQDC-Cash).
- Initiate and drive waste hunting and simplification opportunities across various functions and not limited to supply chain.
- Investigate and execute new cost out & productivity improvement projects to achieve the Variable Cost Productivity (VCP) targets. Organize and lead manufacturing projects related to factory, new equipment, and area layout.
- Lead and conduct Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping events with employee participation. Lead Lean workouts and deliver training where necessary to evolve and sustain the lean culture across the site.
- Drive 5S culture on the production floor.
- Drive daily management, Gemba walks & the problemsolving culture. Implement Standard Work.
- Lead/support crossfunctional projects to drive process improvements. Establish lean engagement initiatives and tools to educate and influence lean thinking throughout the site.
- Drive the continuous improvement journey through leveraging current tools and processes, as well as developing new ones that support improvements in lean maturity, digital operations.
- Own the deployment of Lean strategy. Report our Lean progress to the leadership team.
- Act as a mentor and coach for the plant staff members and adjacent functions to assure proper deployment of work standards and lean tools.
- Assess and launch "new" NPIs with associated process(es) to deliver business and process targets.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience
- Lean sixsigma Green belt certified (Black belt preferred)
- Excellent organizational skills Selfmotivated with a winning, "can do" attitude
- Ability to influence others and lead small teams
- Must be willing to comply with preemployment screening, including but not limited, reference verification and background check.
- Must have unrestricted Canadian work authorization, or obtain work authorization in the short term;
