The Role:


In the role of Applied Scientist (NLP), you will join our Collaboration Science team— our transdisciplinary research team dedicated to the goal of developing intelligence that helps understand, facilitate, and design human collaboration.

  • You will work in a multidisciplinary team of experts each of whom brings a different lens to understand collaboration.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:


  • Work together with your science team to perform research, testing, and model development using ecologically valid behavioural data including conversations, gestures, facial expressions etc.
  • Lead the identification and development of solutions using existing and emerging NLP methods and technologies that can be effectively applied to the contract domain.
  • You will work with psychologists and data humanists to cocreate novel ontologies that describe human interactions in digital and nondigital spaces.
  • Work closely with the engineering partners to deploy models into production, build scalable systems, monitor and improve performance metrics.
  • Work closely with Product Management to translate user scenarios and product requirements into designs and plans for robust, customeragnostic machine learning solutions.
  • You will develop algorithms to automate ETL requirements for NLP modelling.
  • As a member of the technical team, you will be consistently evaluating and recommending new technologies that will form part of our products.

What You Offer:


  • 4+ years of experience working in various aspects of NLP data science.
  • Expertise in NLP and NLU concepts like preprocessing, computational semantics, topic modelling, word embeddings, etc.
  • Proficiency with relational databases and JSON data structures.
  • Demonstrated skills with Python or R. Experience with libraries like SpaCy, nltk, wordnet, Gensim. (Ideally have a GitHub space to share)
  • Experience with 3rd party APIs like Reddit, Twitter, etc.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.
  • An interest in humanizing data and using data to understand human systems.
  • Passion towards research and developing technologies that help people understand each other better.
