The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies and programs that are designed provincially and implemented locally to enhance collaborative learning and practice.

The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities.

Through strong partnerships with the academic sector, regulators, and government, the Interprofessional Practice and Learning team has an integral role in influencing and operationalizing health system priorities.


About the Opportunity:


Reporting directly to the Administrative Manager, Dalhousie School of Health Sciences under the IPP&L Portfolio, this position provides confidential administrative and secretarial support including accreditation, committee support, maintenance of course materials, and other curriculum documentation.

Responsibilities also include, supporting the Administrative Manager and the Director with scheduling appointments, filing, data entry and data collation, arranging and coordinating meetings and teleconferences, minute taking, document and agenda tracking, maintaining confidential files, preparation and dissemination of information in print and web form.


Responsibilities also include assisting in the preparation of educational materials, documents and presentations, and technology support functions for the development, delivery and evaluation of educational programming, which includes but is not limited to preparation of print based and electronic materials; maintenance of databases and learning management systems, and stakeholder relations.

Provides back up to other support positions within the school.

This position works as a member of a multidisciplinary team.


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade 12 plus graduation from a one year recognized office administration/business/secretarial program or equivalent required
  • Minimum one year clerical or secretarial experience required
  • Medical Terminology course considered an asset
  • Must have at least one year experience working in an academic education setting
  • Typing speed of 60 words per minute
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience with databases using excel
  • Must have welldeveloped communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have excellent organization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be selfdirected and adept at problemsolving, while working with mínimal supervision
  • Must have strong technology support skills for educational programs using a variety of software platforms (e.g., Brightspace)
  • Competencies in other languages preferred, French an asset

    Salary Information:
$ $22.50 hourly
$36,858 - $40,953 annually
