Description

As the Overnight Supervision Worker your primary role is to ensure the safety of all occupants residing within the Foster or Caregiver's Home.

Being a crucial part of the family's safety plan, you will ensure all children are tended to if woken throughout the night, as well as alert the necessary parties in the event of an emergency.

Room checks must be completed as agreed upon between the SFFA Program Coordinator, the Ministry of Social Services, and the Foster Parent/Caregiver.

The secondary role of the Overnight Supervision Worker is to complete domestic duties and meal preparation.

Overnight Supervision Workers must be reliable, and physically able to perform their duties, possess good time management skills, and able to work with mínimal supervision.


Responsibilities

  • Must be awake and alert throughout all working hours
  • Review and understand the homes Fire Safety Plan; ensure a safe working environment
  • Complete room checks as required by SFFA, and Foster Parents/Caregivers
  • Accurately document completion of room checks, tasks accomplished, and all other assigned responsibilities
  • Tend to childcare needs as required (night feeds, bathroom, bad dreams, etc.)
  • Sweep, and mop floors throughout the home
  • Manage kitchen duties such as sanitizing countertops, cupboards, tables, and chairs, organizing within cupboards, pantry, and refrigerator
  • Ensure that all kitchen appliances such as cooking ranges, dishwashers, and microwaves are cleaned and maintained
  • Empty waste bins and garbage cans

Education

  • Minimum High School Diploma; Post secondary education in early childhood education is considered an asset
Experience

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 1 year of relevant childcare experience in addition to education
  • Criminal Record Check inclusive of Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Valid Driver's License when required
  • Job experience preferred in one of the following fields: daycare, educational assistant, house, commercial or hotel cleaner Knowledge,
