We are currently hiring for a Technical Sales Representative.

NATURE and SCOPE


Sell Power Precast Standard Precast Products including but not limited to Septic, Vault, and Traffic Control within the network of, Contractors, and end user consultation professionals of Architects and Engineers as required in the
Ottawa Area and Northern Ontario.


Sell and support the growth of the box culvert, deck panels, stairs, and custom products that produced by PPS in the
Ottawa Area and Northern Ontario.



PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Negotiate scope and contract dollar values to secure orders to meet sales targets
  • Deliver comprehensive sales and service to clients as above
  • Prospect and identify selling opportunities and expand market base
  • Monitor market trends and conditions and manage territory
  • Gain and maintain customer confidence

RESPONSIBILITIES:


Promotion:


  • Promote PPS products to listed client types above as well as Designers and Influencers
  • Manage customer inquiries and execute cold call strategy to expand market base
  • Attend trade shows and participate in various industry functions and associations
  • Search, find, review and quote publicly tendered precast concrete work
  • Create awareness and technical education on uses of standard precast
  • Persuade & influence prospective customers

Prospecting:


  • Track prospective projects.
  • Position PPS products, services and specifications in the marketplace where applicable
  • Identify, qualify and create leads
  • Make cold calls, update catalogues and introduce standard precast to new customers

Technical Service:


  • Conversant with construction drawings and specifications
  • Evaluate and provide technical service and guidance to design and construction community
  • Identify best precast solution. Develop working sketches and proposals with a working knowledge of product/PPS benefits and limitations vs. other methods of construction.

Customer Service:


  • Promotion
  • Maintain and strengthen customer relations through client visits and handson approach
  • Follow up with client on service for feedback on performance

Health and Safety:


  • Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and the Company Health and Safety Roles and Responsibilities. Promote PPS's safety vision.

PRIMARY INTERACTIONS
The position requires daily interaction with Sales Manager, Project Manager, Estimators and other Customer Service Representatives. It includes extensive interaction with PPS Sales Office, Manufacturing and outside contractors.


EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Postsecondary education preferred.
  • Experience with CRM an asset.
  • Experience with Precast sales and product experience preferred
  • Broad technical background and knowledge, developed technical and negotiating skills
  • Bilingual preferred (English and French)
