Position Overview:

Provides golf programs and instruction to participants

Responsibilities:

Prepares and conducts appropriate golf program for participants following required standards.
Demonstrates and instructs assigned activities and techniques using established teaching methodology and procedures; provides feedback to participants.
Modifies programs to accommodate participants with special needs.
Explains and ensures safety rules, regulations and etiquette governing golf, recreational activities, and the use of equipment are followed.
Assembles supplies, golf and/or game equipment.
Integrates inclusion staff, private support workers, and volunteers into programs.
Completes records and reports including class attendance and accident/incident reports.
Ensures safe use, condition, and storage of equipment.
Distributes applicable forms and program information (e.g., course evaluation forms, general information, brochures).
Adheres to policies and procedures established for City of Kitchener facilities.
Reviews emergency procedures with participants; follows established procedures during emergencies.
Responds to participants immediate concerns and/or needs and provides customer service.
Acts as a liaison between Kitchener Golf and participants.
Provides first aid as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Must have equivalent to partial secondary school education and 3 months of related experience.
Must have some technical and practical training in one or more sport disciplines.
Current Emergency First Aid certification.
Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Must have knowledge of and work in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations to mitigate risk to self and others.
Must be reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
