Applied Industrial Technologies is an extensive network of industrial distribution facilities located throughout Canada.

We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of
Product Support Specialist (Fluid Power) based out of our
Winnipeg, MB location.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Analysis and selection of Fluid Power, Hydraulic, and mechanical power transmission and bulk materials handlings system components, products, and vendors into new and existing systems in industrial
  • Evaluate ratings and life of components during process changes and upgrades
  • Support and develop internal standards for practice and technical reference.
  • Providing product identification, product interchanges and crossovers
  • Providing technical sales support to other CSR's, TSR's and Applied personnel as required
  • Provide assistance to Strategic Accounts Group on RFQ opportunities as required
  • Assisting with sourcing difficult to find products, and helping improve lead times
  • Providing guidance on market sell pricing recommendations
  • Maintain regular and proactive contact with Applied associates, customers and vendors as required
  • Trouble Shoot including but not limited to product Improvements/Change Outs
  • Participate and cooperate with branch and corporate initiatives and policies such as:
  • Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
  • Quality Management System
  • Company policies and procedures
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of company's product and service offerings
  • Maintain and encourage respectful and diplomatic relationships across the company
  • Take personal responsibility for maintaining training requirements and professional development
  • Maintain high regard for safety and housekeeping
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills, education, and experience:


  • 35 years of relevant technical services and support experience within the Fluid Power industry
  • Technical Degree, Diploma or Certificate is preferred but not required
  • Strong technical and analytical aptitude, critical thinking
  • Customer service focused; ability to build relationships with internal and external customers
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Able to work in a team environment and utilize all available resources
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Selfmotivated, ability to work with limited direct supervision
  • Basic computer skills in
  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Maintain high level of knowledge and training on:
  • General business principles
  • Company product & service offering
  • Vendors & customers


  • Company ERP system

  • SAP
  • Conduct all dealings in a professional and respectful manner as outlined in the company Code of Ethics
