Summary


The Quality Control Technician is responsible for direct examination of product to ensure that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with legislation and customer specifications.

Requiring a high level of attention to detail, the Quality Control Inspector is responsible for strictly adhering to the organization's quality assurance policies, and identifying defects and or production errors in order to prevent these materials from entering the supply chain.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary. This is a 6-month contract to start with potential to converting to full-time.


Job Duties

  • Ensure that all standard operating procedures are strictly followed at all times
  • Ensure compliance with CFIA regulations
  • Read and thoroughly understand all product specifications
  • Inspect, test and/or measure products according to company standards
  • Test a certain percentage of all products based on industry standards and to ensure they are free from contaminants
  • Conduct visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable produce products
  • Create and maintain a detailed and accurate report of test data
  • Discuss inspection results to all appropriate personnel
  • Provide suggestions on how to further improve current protocol testings' effectiveness and efficiency when needed
  • Ensure accurate timely processing and organization of workflow for receiving and shipping functions
  • Other duties relevant to the position will be assigned as required

Requirements:


  • Post Secondary Education in an appropriate field.
  • Minimum 1 year of direct work experience with QA systems, regulations, guidelines, and associated standards.
  • Direct knowledge of QA methodologies.
  • Practical experience with risk management, product testing, capability studies, and control plans.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60lbs
  • Training and knowledge of Six Sigma techniques and Lean Manufacturing are desirable.
  • Highly motivated and selfdirected capable of multitasking, and able to work with mínimal supervision.
  • Extremely detailoriented and analytical thinker.
  • Able to interface directly with crossfunctional teams.
  • Ability to create and review technical documentation, including project plans, test procedures, and design documents.
  • Able to develop, review, and maintain metrics and quality audits.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

Job Type:
Fixed term contract


Salary:
$16.55-$18.00 per hour
