OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:


The Music Programme Lead will ensure the successful development and execution of the summer music programme for children ages 4-13 years of age.

This postion reports to the Manager of Summer Programmes.


MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Curriculum development in partnership with the Manager of Summer Programmes;
Assisting with hiring and training instructors for the delivery of the programme;
Overseeing the development of promotional materials for the music programme;
Overseeing the delivery of the music programme and ensuring that the quality of instruction is consistent and of an appropriate standard for the different student groups;
Managing resources and ensuring that appropriate instruments are provided for instruction;
Overseeing the organization of performance opportunities to showcase student achievement;
Ensuring that the camp experience promotes wellbeing and a positive experience for all participants.


TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:

June 19, August 31, 2023


QUALIFICATIONS:

Post-secondary degree in a relevant field (OCT preferred);
Knowledge and experience in Human Resource 'best practices';
Valid CPR and First Aid Certification (training will be provided);
Mandatory participation in training June , 2023.


EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

In-depth knowledge of music and skills as a musician;
Experience as a music educator;
Strong organizational skills and leadership experience, particularly in the process of mentoring young staff;
Skilled people leader who can energize and develop individuals by taking a learner-centered approach that builds trust, encourages collaboration and promotes a growth mindset;
Strong communication interpersonal skills;
A sense of humour, self-control and a love for working with children;
Holds high standards of personal responsibility and professionalism;
First Aid and CPR qualification;
