About Us:


Role:

This position provides leadership over provincial learning and development projects for staff and caregivers within Children and Family Services. The learning and development specialist provides expert consultation and direction on organizational learning and competency-based training.

The position directs and oversees the instructional design of projects and development of learning content, provides direction for supervisors and program staff in learning transfer and evaluates how each project contributes to Ministry outcomes.

The work of this position directly links to building capacity in skills, competencies, knowledge, and behaviours for ministry staff and caregivers, ensuring curriculum is implemented provincially at all levels.


Qualifications:

A university degree in a related field plus four (4) years of progressively responsible experience.


Other requirements include:


  • Experience with curriculum design and development
  • Experience working with a learning management system
  • Experience with project based work

Preferences will be given to those with:
Previous facilitation and learning and development consultation experience
Equivalencies may be considered - directly related education or experience on the basis of:

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

Salary:

$2,716.64 to $3,350.90 bi-weekly ($70,904.30 to $92,678.49 annually)

  • This role is expected to work onsite from the downtown office location in Edmonton.
