Laserglow Technologies is a successful and growing optoelectronics company headquartered in North York, Ontario, Canada, specializing in the provision of industrial safety equipment.
We are looking to enhance our team by welcoming anAssembly Production Manager.
The
Assembly Production Manager is responsible for managing the manufacturing of our products in a safe, quality-oriented, productive, reliable, and cost-effective manner while demonstrating leadership and great people management skills.
This position will report directly to the Vice President and will collaborate with the Assembly, Supply Chain, Engineering & Maintenance and Quality Assurance team members.
-Primary Responsibilities:_
- Lead the manufacturing team in the safe production of quality products with a continuous improvement mindset
- Maintain quality assurance by establishing and enforcing organizational quality standards
- Be a visible leader and maintain a strong, consistent presence on the plant floor
- Review manufacturing processes for efficiencies, noting areas for improvement related to all areas of the manufacturing facility
- Promote and maintain end to end process control
- Take ownership of all manufacturing production and the development of the annual manufacturing budget for labour and overhead
- Lead and optimize the manufacturing reporting procedures and systems
- Work closely with purchasing to ensure alignment on material planning and availability
- Embody and promote our company culture as inclusive, diverse, and equitable.
- Empower assembly staff to take ownership of their work, and to contribute their own ideas of how to improve processes and the work environment.
Desired Qualifications:_
- Completion of postsecondary education in process/production/business management from an accredited institution
- Minimum 5+ years production and process management experience
- Expertise in continuous improvement methodologies including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
- A high degree of computer literacy is a must
- Great leadership and motivational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- A sense of urgency with ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
- Strategic planning and critical thinking skills
- Knowledge and experience in Canadian Health and Safety practices and requirements
- Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS.
