Job Summary
Student Communications Services (SCS) provides communications leadership and support to UBC's Office of the Vice-President, Students (VPSO) and Enrolment Services (ES).
This role is part of a large, cross-functional team that works collaboratively to build and maintain a student-centred digital and communications ecosystem across web, social, blog, and other platforms to UBC Vancouver students.
The Manager, Marketing Operations is responsible for managing centralized communications projects, including developing, overseeing and operationalizing processes, and defining the required technology and data to manage the flow of communications requests, and for streamlining and standardizing marketing operations to enhance collaboration and effectiveness.
They will seek opportunities to systematically connect with communications teams and key campus partners across the VP Students and across campus, establishing points of collaboration to drive the goals of the UBC Student Strategic Plan.
The role will ensure that marketing operations align with the student-centred communications and strategic priorities of the Student Communications Services team.
The role collaborates with stakeholders, managers and team lead to lead centralized communications projects, understanding workflow objectives and translating them into operational processes, timelines and schedules.
This position collaborates and works closely with the Manager, Digital Content and Marketing.This position fosters the inclusion of voices that have been underrepresented or discouraged in the work they perform.
Organizational Status
The Manager, Digital Content and Marketing is a member of the Student Communications Services (SCS) team. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Communications and Marketing.
An integral member of the Student Communications Services Team, the position works in close collaboration with SCS, VPSO, and ES teams.
Work Performed- Marketing and promotions operations_
- Leads the development and oversight of scalable marketing and promotions operations for SCS
- Builds relationships with the VPSO service and program units to support collaboration and an integrated, studentfocused approach to communications.
- Actively seeks out partnerships and develops and strengthens relationships with campus communicators and student clubs and groups to identify and improve opportunities for collaboration, coordination, and scalability.
- Develops guidelines, governance, and best practices to support a scalable, centralized model
- Designs and operationalizes campaign and content creation processes with an emphasis on scalability
- Oversees and manages social media activations at key live events as required (e.g. Athletics and Recreation, Ceremonies and Events etc.)
- Centralized project management_
- Responsible for centralized communications project management, including establishing and overseeing intake and the overall flow of student communications and marketing projects for SCS, developing and managing project timelines, ensuring timely and relevant stakeholder communication and engagement etc.
- Manages quarterly (or termbased) timelines, provides timely and consistent communication with partners, and leads project measurement and reporting. Works closely with the Senior Manager, Communications Marketing on identifying emerging priorities based on annual planning processes.
