The Account Executive is responsible for driving sales by building and fostering long term relationships with Distribution Partners and Financial advisors in their assigned territory.

The incumbent is guided by defined goals and objectives and works under the direction of the Regional Vice President, Retail Distribution.


What you'll be working on:


  • Conduct regular and targeted face to face and virtual meetings with Distribution Partners and Advisors to gain an in depth understanding of their unique business needs and advise on Business Building Strategies, Sales Concepts and revenue generating ideas.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to initiate and build new relationships with Distribution Partners.
  • Manage case development by liaising with internal partners such a Tax & Estate Planning and Underwriting to ensure product mix meets underlying needs.
  • Actively participate in Business Building and Appreciation Events for Distribution Partners in addition to attending industry events and representing and promoting the Empire Life brand.
  • Gather and share market intelligence to marketing and sales colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate and current records of Distribution Partner activity and potential product and revenue generating ideas.
  • Responsibly manage assigned Promotional and Travel Budget.
  • Build and maintain comprehensive knowledge of current market trends and the competitive landscape and position Empire Life strategically.
  • Manage personal growth and development by leveraging strengths and identify and act on development opportunities.

What you'll need to have:


  • 8+ years face to face sales experience in Financial Services In depth knowledge of the Canadian Insurance marketplace and the broker and advisor channel Established network and stellar reputation in the MGA marketplace LLQP required and preference for additional accreditation such as CLU, CFP, FMA, CHFC, RHU. Undergraduate degree highly preferred Exceptional relationship building, influencing and presentation skills a must. Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills necessary.
  • High proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and other technical platforms.
