All Saints Westboro is a parish of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa, a part of a progressive, inclusive and affirming community in the heart of Ottawa.

We are seeking to hire a temporary Custodian for the winter period.

Main Responsibilities:

Unlock and turn off alarm, unless already done by security person (Edith).
Clear the snow from the pathways on both the front and the rear exits.
As required salt the pathways.
Salt the parking lot if it is icy.
Open office and turn off alarm. Empty recycling and garbage cans. Sweep and wash office floors. Clean office bathroom. Vacuum carpets. Check if office window and door glass needs cleaning.
Vacuum the carpets in the hallways. If the carpets are wet use the shopvac.
Sweep and clean kitchen floor. Remove garbage and recycling and replace bags. This work is required whenever the kitchen has been used. Check that the electric stove is turned off, dishwasher is off and windows are closed. Ensure that the exhaust fan over the stove is turned on the low setting. (This is critical in cold weather to ensure the water pipes do not freeze).
Collect cleaning supplies and clean all washrooms: two on main floor, one by front entrance, one by choir room, one outside Steacy Hall, one near food bank. Cleaning includes washing floors, stalls and counters, cleaning toilets and urinals, high dusting, cleaning mirrors, empty garbage cans and put in new garbage bags. Check toilet paper, hand soap and hand towel supply.
Check with the office and activities book to identify any setup required on Monday or Tuesday.

Working schedule:

Monday and Tuesday of each week from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon.

Employment is expected to commence in December 2023 and last until end of March 26th, 2024.
