Responsibilities:


  • Participate in instructor led orientation of new students online and/or by phone
  • Deliver instruction that meets module and program objectives, as set out in the Alberta Health Services curriculum facetoface and/or online settings
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of curriculum and instructional materials
  • Prepare course outlines and teaching materials
  • Evaluate student progress; generate, administer and mark student coursework and exams
  • Monitor and discuss students' progress at both an individual and group level
  • Assign and post grades
  • Hold consultations with weaker students to enhance learning
  • Address attendance issues or other problems as they arise
  • Administer reference and criminal checks as required

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Presentation and group facilitation skills
  • Ability to motivate, engage and inspire students
  • Relevant industry skills and knowledge relating to the area of instruction, including ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
  • High standards of behaviour, a professional attitude and commitment to quality service.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other instructors and staff.
  • Learn and use technology to enhance the student learning experience.

Required Education / Experience:


  • Related diploma or degree from a recognized postsecondary institution
  • 3+years' experience as an LPN or RN
  • LPN or RN active License
  • Teaching experience is an asset
