Reporting to the Director, Information Systems and Web Services, or designate, the Information Systems and Technology Manager (ISTM) ensures the availability of the technology requirements, resources and processes that are required to support CCSA.

The ISTM is responsible for technology architecture, planning, budgeting, acquisition of hardware and software, hosting and managed service solutions.

The ISTM also delivers information technology services such as helpdesk, computer repair, infrastructure management, software licensing, website hosting, security, internet connectivity and system operations.


Responsibilities

  • Consistently offers professional, friendly and engaging services to all users
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of the organization, which includes the development of briefing notes, executive summaries and business cases
  • Recommends and implements IT roadmaps and ensures adherence to the reference architecture by managing all aspects of the technology support systems
  • Develops, documents and implements policies, procedures and quality standards related to IT service management and security principles (e.g., root cause identification, troubleshooting, business continuity, disaster recovery) and recommends process improvements
  • Maintains corporate IT and security standards, software and hardware licensing for the organization, training, ongoing audits and departmental reporting
  • Supports, maintains and designs the CCSA technology ecosystem to ensure interoperability, maximum usability and minimum downtime, including file and print access, firewall, security, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), remote access capabilities and automation systems
  • Stays informed on technology industry trends and best practices and conducts feasibility assessments for costeffective solutions that meet business needs
  • Maintains and configures technology security to ensure the safety of CCSA's data, privacy and storage and the continuity of infrastructure services
  • Assists with the preparation and tracking of the technology budget to ensure that rationalization, modernization and migration initiatives are considered for current and future budgetplanning cycles
  • Manages thirdparty technology providers and consultants where specialized skills are required for technology projects or maintaining daily operations
  • Manages daytoday operations of CCSA's IT infrastructure including afterhours support
  • Leads, develops, inspires and mentors others by managing and engaging a team with diverse expertise to innovate and achieve strategic objectives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in computer science, management information systems, information technology, engineering or a related discipline
  • Seven to 10 years of experience in system administration, user support, networking, virtualization, firewall, backup, storage and server technology
  • Experience with developing IT roadmaps and reference architecture aligning business goals
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write technical and nontechnical documentation, standard operating procedures, briefing notes and business cases
  • Working knowledge of firewalls, IDS, IPS, VPN, VoIP, Dell, Cisco and Juniper technologies
  • Experience administering workflow management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Planner) and infrastructure monitoring and ticketing systems
  • Administrative experience using and supporting Microsoft 365 platform and Azure; AWS; Virtual Desktops in Windows OS; database, storage and server; and SharePoint solutions and desktop products
  • Experience in providing technical guidance to users who have varying degrees of computer knowledge
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical teams
  • Knowledge of enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management systems
  • Experience managing security platforms and frameworks to protect organizational assets
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python and Micros
