Description

GFL is looking to hire a Material Sorting Supervisor and Analyst to join our team based out of Surrey, BC Developing an audit protocol and the formation of an audit guide that will serve as an audit key used by the team to determine the proper classification of packaging item into a material market stream.

To oversee all municipal and depot audits conducted by Recycle BC to ensure audit protocols are reflective of industry standard audit methodologies.

The position will be required to actively participate in material audits at our CMI facility in Surrey and similar types of audits at the Urban Impact plant, located in New Westminster, and GFL plant located in Richmond.

Effective communication, a focus on excellent client relations, critical thinking and data review skills are essential.

Communicating with management and senior staff in order to resolve any material audit disputes and ensure contractual obligations are met is important.


Key Responsibilities:


Compilation of all audit data, ensuring it is provided to applicable plant managers, contract manager(s) and other managers as required.

Oversight of Recycle BC audit team to ensure proper protocols can be developed, approved and adhered to
If independent audits are required to be completed, this position may be responsible for hiring temporary audit team members and are trained on audit requirements as per contracts outlined by the Manager
Tracking temporary employees' hours, breaks, and submit for payment
Train new temporary hires on all site policies, procedures and regulations governing the site and the audit protocols
Communicate with Manager and senior executive any audit disputes arising with the municipal contract(s), when required
Coordination and Scheduling
Ensure audits are conducted in a uniform fashion according to contracts and/or market specifications. Attend off-site audits as directed
Travel between various locations to observe sample collection and audit process as directed by Manager
Attend meetings, as required by your Manager. Meetings may be held off-site
Documentation and Data Entry
Enter audit data and performing audit analysis as directed
Internal data management of all audit documentation, including data reconciliation between third party audits and municipalities
Update inbound composition spreadsheets daily and document materials found in audits
Catalog numerous photographs and videos of waste audits
Employee Relations
Communicate with administrative, plant and supervisory staff as required
Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor
Provide and/or participate in training as required
Comply with company rules, policies and procedures
Health & Safety
When touring the operation facilities, the following Personal Protective Equipment must be worn:
CSA approved Safety Shoes
Hearing Protection
High Visibility Clothing
Gloves
Safety Glasses
CSA approved Hard Hats
