SUMMARY OF JOB
The Quality Coordinator is responsible for leading, participating and coordinating the continuous improvement and quality programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish metrics to track progress/statistics, monitor and report on all continuous improvement activities, processes and procedures
  • Document improvements using Change Management process
  • Work closely with Plant Management to sustain a Lean culture and partner with departments on the implementation of lean principles
  • Lead and facilitate lean workshops
  • Responsible for writing procedures from lean initiatives to ensure effective implementation and sustaining efforts
  • Manage events such as 6S auditing and Kaizen events
  • Maintain, review, revise and continuously improve quality documentation including testing instructions, records, work instructions and policies
  • Ensure compliance of manufactured products and purchased materials to DSI and CSA/ASTM requirements
  • Track non conformances and opportunities for improvements
  • Perform regular inspections and reviews to ensure employees adhere to quality policies
  • Schedule, conduct and document internal audits; follow up on corrective actions
  • Participate in the preparation of external audits for quality related program(s)
  • Participate with the preparation of the management review
  • Ensure maintenance and calibration of test equipment
  • Ensure all ISO standards are adhered to
  • Work closely with other coordinator(s) on Internal/External audit prep and corrective actions using MOC process
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts
  • Experience in investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems, or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation and the law

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the areas of continuous improvement, environment/sustainability, health and safety, lean and /or quality in a manufacturing environment

EDUCATION

  • Internal Auditor certification is considered an asset
  • Minimum Green Belt certification

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:


  • Continuous improvement: 3 years (required)
  • Lean manufacturing: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Green Belt certification (required)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt (required)
