The Opportunity


As the Associate Merchandising Manager you will work along side Category Management, Marketing, and the Retail execution teams to develop and implement merchandising strategies designed to maximize instore customer experience, retail efficiencies and revenue.

You will also ensure all stores are following Royal Distributing's merchandising standards to create a consistent presentation to our customers.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain overall merchandising strategy through all seasons
  • Coordinate with retail locations to maintain and update store merchandising
  • Accountable for store specific layouts tied to business strategies and customer journey analysis
  • Create all planograms/zoneograms as required that correspond with category management strategies and tactics
  • Participate in Category Management line review processes from preplanning to execution
  • Design store fixtures and merchandising standards by working directly with retail store teams and Category Managers
  • Actively review current and source new fixtures designed to improve efficiencies and sales
  • Travel to Royal Distributing's retail locations to monitor and implement merchandising standards, and coach managers and associates on merchandising practices
  • Develop promotional layouts to support "Sales Events"
  • Assist with instore promotions or projects including seasonal sales events and product changeover
  • Support with project management expectation and designs, collaborating on new store projects
  • Act in alignment to the organization's culture, products, image and target market
  • Gathering and collecting information regarding field learnings for review
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:


  • Post-Secondary education in Visual Merchandise, Space Planning or Business is considered an asset
  • 8+ years of retail management or merchandising role
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop others
  • Experienced in implementing visual merchandising practices and techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate level knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience reporting and working within an ERP system
  • Ability to work as a team and demonstrate professionalism with associates, vendors, and customers
Additional Information

  • The role reports to the Director of Purchasing and Replenishment
  • The role is based out of our Woodlawn location in Guelph, Ontario, but will require travel to all Royal Distributing retail locations
  • This is a fulltime opportunity operating Monday-Friday, with additional overtime hours in peak seasons
  • This position may operate under flexible work hours and partial remote work arrangements following completion of the training period
