As a Site Supervisor at Canstar Restorations, you will be making a difference in peoples' lives by restoring their homes after they have experienced a fire or flood.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of construction related projects including site visits, customer service, supervision of trades and sub trades and productivity/quality control.

Every day is different, you will be moving between job sites as you progress them from start to finish.

The most important characteristic that you bring will be a motivated, positive, safety-conscious attitude to getting the job done to a high standard in a timely fashion.

What you'll be doing as a Site Supervisor

  • Helping people recover their homes from flood, fire, and smoke damage.
  • Supervising large loss job sites including coordination of staff, subcontractors, engineers, inspectors, etc.
  • Supervising access to job sites as key holder from start to finish.
  • Assisting with the development of project schedules, task timelines, request for proposals, selection of subcontractors, and completion of related documentation.
  • Developing detailed materials list for assigned projects as per completed scope of work and approved budget.
  • Updating and maintain communications with Project Manager, Project Coordinator and Production teams.
  • Obtaining signed change orders for all work not on original estimate and complete minor deficiencies to acceptable quality standards.
  • Coordinating materials and equipment for delivery, pick up or removal.
  • Ensuring all relevant safety standards are followed according to Canstar and WorkSafe BC requirements.

You have

  • 1+ years supervisory experience in a construction/restoration environment required.
  • 4+ years handson experience in construction and/or carpentry required.
  • Experience working with a variety of structures (residential, commercial, institutional) required.
  • Experience working in the insurance restoration industry is considered beneficial.
  • The physical ability to bend, reach, lift 50 pounds safely and repeatedly and stand throughout your shift.
  • A driver's license and personal vehicle to attend on call sites is a must (mileage is reimbursed).
  • A great attitude and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done and serve our customers. We have a fun and hardworking team and are looking for someone with the skills to complement them.
  • The ability to wear personal protective equipment to keep you safe on site, including a respirator. Facial hair that will allow you to wear a respirator safely is limited to a clean shave, a moustache and/or a small goatee. We enter people's homes and drive company vehicles, so a clean criminal record as it relates to work and a drivers abstract with only minor infractions is required.

Where

  • BC with travel throughout the Lower Mainland (vehicle allowance is provided).
  • Looking for one based out of Coquitlam and one based out of Abbotsford
  • There is a considerable amount of driving required to attend job sites.

When

  • Working hours will be dependent on project requirements but shifts will typically be 8 working hours per day between 7:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday, with a half hour unpaid lunch break.
  • Overtime may be required outside of these hours on occasions which may include evening, night or weekend working for emergency call outs or activities planned out of normal working hours.
