The Population and Public Health Division is responsible for improving population health and well-being and advancing health equity through health promotion and prevention, health protection, communicable disease prevention and control, and strategy, planning and evaluation.
The division has a delegated authority to provide stewardship of the public health system on all matters related to population and public health, in accordance with the Ministry's legislated responsibility for several statutes and regulations with respect to population and public health.
Working in a team environment, the Executive Administrative Assistant (EAA) provides confidential, administrative and secretarial services to the Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM) of Population and Public Health Division.
The EAA must establish and maintain effective communications; develop and maintain effective working relationships between the Division Senior Leadership team and the Deputy Ministers Office while maintaining effective working relationships with all levels of the ministry.
Job Requirements:
- Grade 12, preferably with subsequent related courses/training, such as office administration, public administration, communications, and records management.
Three years' recent experience working in a senior administrative role (preferred experience working for an ADM or Executive Director); OR equivalent education and experience may be considered
Related experience must include:
- managing a demanding executive calendar by determining priorities and urgent situations, scheduling and coordinating appointments, meetings, travel arrangements, and compiling meeting materials.
- experience handing, coordinating and prioritizing information, in a confidential environment.
- coordinating and editing briefing materials, reports and / or correspondence, including proof reading with a high degree of accuracy.
- using correspondence tracking system (ie: Cliff and eApprovals), SharePoint, CAS/ iExpense and Time and Leave.
Preferences:
- Preference may be given to applicants who identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit)
