Research Animal Technician - Physical Sciences


A temporary full-time, grant-funded Research Animal Technician position is available immediately, in the Physical Sciences Platform at Sunnybrook Research Institute, to assist in preclinical research related to the use of focused ultrasound.


Responsibilities include:

Animal care duties as required, including colony management, anesthesia management and surgical procedures

Managing orders related to animal procedures and care

Maintaining and updating animal protocols


Requirements:

Graduate from a recognized animal health technician program or equivalent discipline

Prior experience working as an animal technician in a research environment

Experience handling multiple species of laboratory animals

No known allergies to animals

Ability to routinely lift 20 kg

Ability to safely enter an MRI environment

Ability to work in a team
