Description

In this role you will be working in close communication with management, engineering, procurement and production staff on a daily basis and will be expected to design, develop, test, evaluate and improve integrated procedures and systems for managing industrial processes, including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics along with material flow, cost analysis and production coordination.

Day shift: 5 x 8 hour shifts; Monday to Friday

Job Description:

Lead a manufacturing team consisting of Value Stream Leader, Production Control, Purchasing and Planning
Ensuring production schedules and projects are maintained and up to date
Support and initiate Lean Practices in 5S, Kaizen and continuous improvements, value stream mapping and visual controls
Implement change inspire your group through continuous improvement initiatives
Create manufacturing plans so that production schedules can be attained
Solicit and analyze feedback from the manufacturing team
Support Quality Department and assist with quality initiatives
Develop projectbased manufacturing and processing concepts for the manufacturing team to implement

Planning

Create daily/weekly/monthly plans that meet management objectives

Leadership

Lead a team through ongoing projects, identify and support strengths and weaknesses

Execution

Ensure each step of each project is followed through

Timelines

Deliver a finished product that is on time and meets expectations
Maintain an active role in day to day operations to assist production team members with any issues or improvements
Prepare work and production schedules; monitoring the progress of production projects
Monitor production documents, procedures and drawings
Coordinate meetings and / or presentations with Production Staff, Engineering, Sales and Management as required

Skills & Experience

Graduate of Mechanical Technician / Technologist Program or Material / Operations Management or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent

Leadership
skills; ability to inspire, encourage and point individuals toward a common goal to achieve results

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as you are responsible for leading a team consisting of VSL, production control, purchasing and planning
Critical thinking, problemsolving and time management skills required
Detail oriented, organized and skilled at planning and project coordination
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience in Microsoft Office required
Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes
Working knowledge of ERP / MRP systems
Project Management Courses considered an asset
