Detailed Overview:


Reporting to the Manager, Food & Nutrition or designate, performs a variety of duties within the food service operation such as setting up trays, portioning meals and preparing items such as tea, coffee, toast and washing dishes and utensils; delivers and picks up meal trays from the patient''s room.


Responsibilities:


  • Assembles and sets ups meal trays with items according to information printed on patient's meal ticket; loads and unloads meal wagons; delivers and picks up meal trays from the patient''s room.
  • Makes beverages and food items such as tea, coffee, and toast; assembles items such as sandwiches and salads.
  • Washes, peels and stores vegetables and fruit.
  • Cleans soiled dishes and utensils; stores cleaned dishes, trays and utensils in the appropriate areas.
  • Performs cleaning duties such as sweeping and damp mopping floors, cleaning counter tops, sinks, machines and equipment and spot washing walls; removes garbage as required.
  • Collects stores requisitions from various areas and distributes supplies to the appropriate areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience
Grade 10 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Successful completion of a recognized Food Safe Certificate.

  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
