We are looking for an exceptional
Financial Aid Specialist to join our Financial Aid Office department.


Duties:


  • Perform all studentrelated finance and accounting functions on student databases to allow for timely follow up and completion in accordance with government and college policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and follow up on the status of all pending student loan documents.
  • Monitor student academic progress as per the OSAP Academic Guidelines.
  • Track student funding on Campus Login.
  • Liaise with OSAP and CCO for funding approval


  • Handle overdue balance

  • Midway session (OSAP & Self-Pay)
  • Conduct workshops on empowering students.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and answer student inquiries regarding financial status and information, advice and clarification to student questions regarding OSAP policies and procedures.
  • Check One-Key Portal before CCO Submission.
  • Check the files for the processing funds.
  • Handle students' objections.
  • Monitor attendance and Grades during Mid way
  • Follow up with the required documents, MSFAA and update in Campus Login.
  • Check files are complete before disbursement (Attendance, progress marks, midway, OSAP status)
  • Income verification update, tracking and update in Campus Login.
  • Send an OSAP reminder to the students prior 60 days of program end date
  • Maintain and provide all the update information to the students for Financial Exit interview
  • Be personally accountable for maintaining knowledge of all current government programs, policies, and revisions.
  • Be personally accountable for keeping all student files incompliant for OSAP inspection.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a private career college.
  • Postsecondary education in accounting or finance or related fields such as business administration.
  • Previous experience working with the Ontario Student Assistance Program and Federal government loan programs an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of Office 36
  • Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Detailoriented with highly developed followup skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as well as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
