What you'll do:

The goal of the Houseperson is to offer a warm welcome to all guests. He/she responds promptly and professionally to both guest requests and the needs of fellow associates. When opportunity allows, the Houseperson anticipates the needs of our guests and associates and provides items or services before anyone even asks With many physical demands, this is not a position for the faint of heart - but it might save you the cost of a gym membership


The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Thoroughly cleans assigned Hotel areas and guestroom corridors following all guidelines and procedures to ensure Marriott standards are met
  • Actively listen and respond warmly to guest questions, concerns, and requests using LEARN to resolve issues, delight, and build trust.
  • Washes, cleans, and replaces equipment and furnishings as necessary
  • Participates in all housekeeping inventories and all special cleaning programs which may include, but not limited to, mattress turning, carpet and/or upholstery cleaning
  • Delivers housekeeping and guest requested items to specified areas
  • Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers and buffers which are used and cared for in a professional manner
  • Disposes all trash
  • Reports maintenance deficiencies in guestrooms and surrounding areas promptly
  • Stocks all linen closets according to predetermined par levels on a daily basis
  • Follows all company and jobspecific safety policies, and reports any accident and/or hazard immediately
  • Handle all chemicals according to the Safety Data Sheets provided (WHMIS, WHMIS 2015).
  • Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations and the Company's Health and Safety policies and procedures including COVID protocols and the Clean Matters Training
  • Undertakes special projects and other duties as assigned

  • Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel or similar environment a definite asset.
  • Previous customer service experience a definite asset.
  • WHMIS training an asset.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule (weekdays, evening, weekends and holidays).
  • Possess a strong ability for attention to detail.
  • Organized, efficient, learns quickly and safetyminded.
  • High quality standards for production and service.
  • Able to work productively with little supervision.
  • Able to stand and walk throughout shift.
  • Able to bend, stoop, and reach to perform routine job tasks.
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs. over moderate distances.
  • Able to push/pull objects weighing up to 250lbs. using appropriate carts.

Salary:
$19.92-$24.90 per hour
