- Participate actively in Pre-Job Hazard Assessment and First Aid Assessment in collaboration with the Safety Department
- Participate in the development of Safety procedures for specific job tasks in collaboration with the Safety Department
- Perform monthly safety tours
- Review and validate project safety reports (inspections, daily workplans)
- Identify and communicate potential hazards with foremen and crews
- Ensure that safety procedures in accordance with the Prime Contractor, BA OH&S manual, and Work Safe are being followed
- Ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner while considering risks and potential liabilities
- Ensure all workers and subcontractors participate in project orientation prior to starting work on a specific project
- Ensure work sites are always left clean and free from any hazards
- Investigate actively and in detail all incidents/accidents/near misses
- Verify housekeeping, maintenance, and cleanliness of vehicles/equipment
- Review contract documents, the scope of work, drawings, and specifications prior to starting a new job site
- Review project bid documents and budget in detail with the estimator and/or project manager. Participate in job cost codes set-up
- Participate actively in bid handover meetings
- Participate in pre-construction meetings
- Prepare and give all necessary information to foremen (Work Order, Drawings, Cost codes, schedule...).
- Optimize and schedule project resources (manpower, equipment and subcontractors) requirements with the Construction Manager
- Schedule Milling and Concrete crews with Milling and Concrete Superintendents as early as possible
- Schedule asphalt paving requirements, including the type of mix, quantities, timeline, and production rates with the Construction Manager
- Schedule, coordinate and negotiate with subcontractors and material suppliers
- Ensure BC 1 Call as built and necessary permits are obtained
- Direct and coordinate construction operations, construction methods and techniques, and overall planning of assigned projects
- Implement and monitor Safety Management Plan, Traffic Management Plan, Quality Management Plan and Environmental Management Plan.

- Review, verify and correct daily/weekly and monthly job costs in Kheops
- Ensure that Extra Works, Change Orders, and Force Account Works are discussed early with customers and documented prior to performing the work
- Prepare monthly project billing in collaboration with Project Managers. Verify the accuracy of the billing prior to submittal
- Submit all monthly invoices prior to the 15th of the following month or earlier
- Review, correct, and approve suppliers' and subcontractors' invoices
- Communicate and implement the project schedule with foremen and sub-contractors
- Lead/organize/give specific instructions to the site foremen on a daily basis
- Organize what is needed for the work site, such as trucks, equipment, materials, and sub-contractors (flaggers, surveyors, utility subcontractors, etc.) in close collaboration with the site foreman
- Prepare project schedule. Maintain 3 week look-ahead schedule
- Monitor work progress and ensure scheduled deadlines are met
- Ensure that the quality control plan is followed
- Ensure that Quality Control Testing is scheduled as per the project requirements
- Ensure/Verify quality requirements are met

- Ensure that all deficiencies are reported through the NCR process
- Lead, monitor, train and develop site foreman and crew members
- Ensure workers have received proper training prior to completing specific tasks (fall protection, Confine Space, Rigging, Traffic Control, ...)
- Perform bi-annually appraisals for all direct reports
- Schedule equipment requirements with the Construction Manager
- Communicate equipment issues and breakdowns with the equipment department
- Review, update and validate Daily Quantity Reports ''DQR'' and Extra Work Orders ''EWO'' on a daily basis
- Review, correct and integrate foreman paperwork and daily timesheets in Kheops within 48 hours
- Review and sign foremen's daily work plans and monthly safety inspections
- Keep daily notes of work site activities, conversations, issues, and specific instructions in a diary
- Have a strong and growing knowledge of road construction activities and specifications (MoTI, MMCD, municipal specifications, and Traffic Control Management)
- Have a good understanding of Contract Documents

BA Blacktop Ltd. is currently seeking a team oriented, self-motivated and dedicated individual to join our operations team as a Superintendent, Project.
JOB PURPOSE
The Project Superintendent is responsible for planning, scheduling, and executing construction operations. They assure projects are constructed in accordance with company safety programs, contract documents, budget, customer's construction schedule needs, and conform to the plans and specifications.
