Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Assistant General Manager, this position is responsible for supervising, guiding and assisting a team 'that shines', you lead by example and inspire others to take pride in the site's cleanliness and appearance.

Key Accountabilities:

Provides leadership, direction and mentoring to employees; develops performance objectives and delivers performance evaluations for direct reports
Determines staffing needs; organizes and coordinates employees, equipment and resources to ensure effective and efficient handling of workloads
Orders cleaning and paper supplies
Assists in the development of longterm business strategies to maximize labour potential
Resolves any issues detrimental to the effective operation of the department
Ensures Porter duties are completed and performed to required standards
Prepares departmental schedules
Responsible for departmental payroll submissions
Assists Porters with duties as needed
Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership, employees, vendors and regulators
Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations

Education and Qualification Requirements:

Minimum Grade 12 education
57 years of management and/or supervisory experience in a cleaning or housekeeping environment
Completion of WHMIS training is an asset
Ability/willingness to assist with cleaning, and lift/move heavy objects
Previous management experience in a unionized operation or gaming environment an asset
Excellent organizational abilities/attention to detail/accuracy
Excels in a teambased environment
