What does a Maintenance Manager do?

  • Effectively manage a team of maintenance technicians, working with the Maintenance Supervisor and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow with maximum output of the daytoday workload.
  • Work with the Maintenance buyer to control and source inventory levels, tools, parts, equipment, and critical spare components and maintain accurate work orders to track part depletion.
  • Oversee scheduled/planned preventative maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime, determine preventative maintenance frequency through OEM specifications/manuals, analysis reports, etc
  • Ensure standard operating, safety, quality, and environmental procedures are followes and champion compliance with H&S programs including LOTO, chemical release preventative control, fire prevention, hot work, working at heights, etc
  • Identify productivity improvement opportunities and provide feedback on continuous improvement activities and support activities related to ISO14001 & IATF 16949 quality systems.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through the effective coaching and development of the maintenance team and provide technical expertise, and improvement initiatives through open communication and leadership skills.

What you bring to the table

  • Strong leadership, organizational skills, and attention to detail, along with practical knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, materials, tools, presses, pneumatics, hydraulics, water jets, and controls.
  • Mechanical, electrical, or software background with a working knowledge of other disciplines.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problemsolving skills with a working understanding of the impact of failure/downtime on production and customer delivery.
  • Strong analytical skills and computer skills (excel and word programs), and ability to read and understand machine blueprints, schematics, sketches, and manuals.
  • Ability to work and communicate independently, within a team, and with external contacts.
  • Available on a callin basis for emergencies with strong knowledge of ESA and OHSA.

Salary Range:
Global Grade CDN M1


$89, $133, Salary is dependent on experience)

  • Previous experience is required, but we are open to individuals with previous transferable skills such as: Maintenance Management, Project Management, Production Management, Technical Expertise, Mechanical Expertise, etc _
