Applications are invited for the position of Dental Clinic Receptionist in the Allied Health Division, located at the Welland Campus.

The starting hourly rate is $26.47/hr (Pay Band E - $26.47/hr to $30.69/hr) for a 35 hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.

Applicants must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and have a keen appreciation of customer service and teamwork. Current knowledge of legislation and standards relevant to dental practice is expected.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing and organizing daily workflow in the dental reception area
  • Guiding dental students (Dental Hygiene, Dental Assisting and Dental Office Administration) through their business rotations
  • Providing administrative support to the dental clinic
  • Maintaining confidential dental health records and ensuring that documents are readily available for students and clinic staff
  • Providing support and assistance to dental students, dental programs staff, and dental clients
  • Preparing preclinic and clinic documentation
  • Scheduling clients appropriately in a clinical learning environment

Qualifications:


  • Graduate from a recognized Dental Office Administration, Dental Hygiene or Dental Assisting Program
  • Three (3) years minimum experience in dental office management
  • A keen appreciation for teamwork and student success
  • Proven time management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and dental office management software
  • Previous experience at a postsecondary level or training role within a healthcare setting
This position is open to internal employees.

Internal employees are those classified as full-time permanent within the Full-Time Support Staff bargaining unit, regular part-time (RPT) employees who have completed probation, and Appendix D employees with six consecutive months of Appendix D service with the College at the time of posting.
