Job Summary


To assist with and coordinate various initiatives and projects designed to develop new products, services, events and experiences that will result in the growth Whistler Blackcomb's revenue and visits and, in addition, to provide support as required for the Summer and Bike Park planning and operations.

Responsibilities:


  • Whistler Mountain Bike Park Partnerships
  • Contract negotiation and execution
  • Ensuring that contract deliverables are met; coordinating with Ops, Marketing, Brand and SA
  • Planning and executing internal and external partner activations & media film shoots
  • Hosting partners, including on mountain tours
  • Coordinating inkind product orders, distribution and warranty
  • Supporting VRR with partner orders connected to WMBP agreements
  • Supporting uniform orders & distribution
  • Seeking out new partner opportunities
  • Onsite support for WMBP partners
  • Supporting thirdparty events, and partner event activations
  • Supporting all divisions to deliver what is best for all guests and employees
  • Bike School Support including training & rider assessments
  • Summer ops development & management support
  • Bike & hike trail network
  • Interpretive & wayfinding signage
  • Supporting coordination of projects with key operational stakeholders; Patrol, Bike School, Trail Crew, Ops & other departments
  • Investigating and assessing the economic and market conditions surrounding Whistler Blackcomb's businesses including industry trends, competitive analyses and the gathering and interpreting of research from various sources.
  • The analysis of various new and existing Whistler Blackcomb products, services and experiences.
  • Developing proposals and plans to be presented to gain approval for Business Development projects.
  • Assessing the economic impact of potential projects.
  • Considering project impact on existing Whistler Blackcomb operations.
  • Coordination of the execution of approved projects and initiatives.
  • Ensuring clear and effective communication with all Whistler Blackcomb internal people, external partners and other project stakeholders.
  • Measuring and monitoring the ongoing success of each Business Development project
  • Developing annual business development, Summer business plans
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Degree
  • Minimum 5 years managing staff at a supervisory level


  • Bike Guiding Certification

  • Level
  • Microsoft Office, advanced experience in Powerpoint and Excel [spreadsheets, pivot tables, graphs, accounting]
  • Experience in Adobe programs an asset
  • Able to communicate fluently in English


  • BC Driver's Licence

  • Class 5 (an asset)
  • Creative background with layouts and design preferred
  • Advanced to Expert Mountain Bike riding ability
  • Ability to manage and report on budgets and to create proforma business projections
  • Understanding of contracts and risk management is an asset
  • Understanding of Whistler Blackcomb's core businesses.
  • Ability to manage a wide range of complex projects
  • A team player with a proven ability to build successful teams
