Job Summary

What is the opportunity?


Within RBC Investor Services (IS), the Market Services (MS) unit is responsible for driving revenue and NIAT through winning client activities in the markets space specifically, Foreign Exchange, Cash Products and Securities Lending.


The mandate of this position is to support and manage all Market Services business management responsibilities by ensuring appropriate governance, compliance with policies/frameworks, and oversee issues, risks, audit and compliance items.


What will you do?

  • Contributes to and oversees the Front Office Supervisory Program with a focus on regulatory supervision requirements, Regulatory Reporting, Client Documentation and Operational Risk programs globally.
  • Develop, implement (together with the trading desks) and assess operational risk controls.
  • Support requests for information from regulators.
  • Point of contact for Operational Events impacting the MS business.
  • Work closely with IT and Front Office to automate and reduce inefficiencies related to Supervisory reviews and Risk Reports
  • Manage supplier invoices, payments, profiles such as contract renewals, agreements and MIS.
  • Maintain current inventory of procedures and inventory of all relevant policies and controls.
  • Work with desk to maintain dashboard of key initiatives, projects and regulatory changes.
  • Issue owner / coordinator, arising from internal audits / compliance reviews, regulator audits and those selfidentified.
  • Manage audit and regulatory items, operational risk controls and assessments, KYC, supplier risk management, and ensure compliance with risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
  • Create and organize materials for multiple committees, such as the Supervisory and Oversight, Best Execution, FX execution committee.

What do you need to succeed?

  • At least 57 years' experience in trading conduct, compliance, regulatory reporting and governance roles.
  • Highly organized and selfmotivated with ability to adapt and contribute a dynamic work environment and varied responsibilities.
  • Strong relationship management and communication skill and collaborative mindset Proven ability to independently manage multiple, high visibility initiatives.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • Sound market and technical knowledge, specifically of financial services and asset management industry.
  • Strong corporate knowledge.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and complexity i.e., simplify
  • Ability to manage and pivot across multiple tasks / initiatives / projects and priorities
  • Ability to own and seek better methods that include challenging the status quo for overall better outcomes while at the same time managing the applicable risks
