Recreation Aide to join our Casa Mia Care in Vancouver, B.C.

- Carries out established recreation programs such as outings, exercises, crafts, social events, entertainment, games, etc.
- Assists residents to and from programs as required.
- Assists encourage and motivates residents/tenants to participate and provide personal care during recreational activities as required.
- Observes, reports, and documents any changes, in residents, to the supervisor and/or nurse.
- Ensures recreational equipment and supplies are used, maintained and stored in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. Reports unsafe or faulty equipment to supervisor.
- Actively participates in C.Q.I. program, meetings, committees and educational inservices as required. Assists in the maintenance of statistical records.
- Assists with orientation of new residents/tenants.
Requirements:
- Graduate from a recognized Activity/Recreation Certificate or diploma program
- Experience in a senior's focused recreation department an asset.
- Basic First Aid Certificate (Current).
- Food Safe Course or equivalent (Current).
- Proof of COVID vaccination

Casa Mia is a heritage home offers 90 long term care beds, consisting of primarily single occupancy rooms. Many with expansive views over the Fraser River and towering trees.
Casa Mia is a storied 1930's mansion boasting views of gorgeous grounds, the Fraser River, Georgia Straight, and the mountains of Vancouver Island.
This estate home features three stories with a grand dining area, ballroom, recreation areas and large outdoor patios on each floor.
Casa Mia works in collaboration with the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority. We offer 58 subsidized care beds and 32 private pay.
