Your Opportunity:


Reporting to the Senior Operating Officer of Diagnostic Imaging, the Executive Associate is responsible for providing senior administrative management services to the Senior Operating Officer (SOO) and the Senior Medical Director (SMD) for the Diagnostic Imaging portfolio of Alberta Health Services.

The Executive Associate provides expertise in issues management and executive support services to build the strength and effectiveness of senior leadership.

This position will build consistency and continuity within the program, between portfolios and organizationally, while providing background and strategic advice to Senior Leaders on issues related to administrative management, policies and organizational matters.

The Executive Associate will provide services in issues management, strategic planning, portfolio support, committee support, project management, stakeholder and community liaison and executive support services to build the strength and effectiveness of the Executive and portfolio.

Key responsibilities include Executive Support:
Provide advice, counsel, options, recommendation and perspectives to DI Senior Leaders on office, portfolio or Alberta Health Services matters, projects or issues;

Issues Management:

Effectively administrate, coordinate and manage information and issues for the office of the SOO and SMD, the portfolio and AHS.

These issues may deal with portfolio, Alberta Health Services, external, partnership, client or community matters; Strategic Planning:
Provide support for the administration, coordination and management of long-range planning within the portfolio. Maintain planning timelines and guidelines based on Alberta Health Services and portfolio priorities.


Liaison:

Be the communication link within the portfolio, organization and with key stakeholders outside AHS to ensure the executive office, portfolio and AHS is represented appropriately and ensure appropriate movement or transfer of information.

Required Qualifications:


Post Secondary education in the related area or a university degree in health services administration / business administration; Minimum of 5 years related experience.


Additional Required Qualifications:


Ability to gain extensive knowledge of Alberta Health Services strategic direction, operating requirements, as well as the policies and procedures.

Proven ability to work within a team as a contributing member. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience working independently within a large organization with a variety of staffing groups.

Proven ability to work collaboratively with other team members from other areas of expertise, and with the senior leaders within the organization.


Preferred Qualifications:

Equivalencies of education and experience will be considered. Graduate degree is preferred. Additional training or experience in project management and change management would be an asset.
