The Team


The Fixed Income & Derivatives Technology team is a crucial part of the Global Technologies Applications Group that support the Global Banking and Market business.

This is an opportunity to work in the fast-moving and exciting world of Capital markets.

We are looking for an energetic and strategic thought leader with strong technical background to join this dynamic team and take on a challenging and exciting role.


The Role


You will need to manage all technology aspects within the assigned portfolio and develop technology strategy in collaboration of business stakeholder and mitigates risk through cost effective solutions and efficient operations of your respective area.


You will be responsible for managing a team of software engineers engaged in the design, development, and delivery of efficient and cost-effective technical solutions across a mix of in-house and vendor platforms to resolve complex, multi-dimensional business problems.

You will have the opportunity to work with talent individuals from cross functional teams and be responsible to build and implement market leading solutions that are scalable, in high quality, with adequate and effective controls to meet obligations required for compliance and operational risk and add value to our business partners and customers.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Be responsible for the design, architecture and the successful implementation of effective and quality solutions. Accountable for delivery according to pre agreed timelines and budgetary constraints.
  • Effectively manage a team of technical professional including software engineers and DevOps by setting performance expectations, monitoring performance and providing technical guidance and coaching.
  • Champion a customer focused and high performing culture and implements strategy to attract, retain, develop, and motivate the team through purposeful leadership and by fostering an inclusive culture.
  • Effectively communicate and continuously building and maintaining a strong working relationship with technology partners, management and business stakeholders, and partner with them to help drive the strategy of the department.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

years of progressive software development and IT experience, with strong software engineering/technical background and experience leading and building high performance teams

  • Proven experience in managing large technology projects and building complex solutions.
  • Strong capital markets knowledge and architecture experiences.
  • With Curious and Engineering mindset to drive innovation amidst uncertainty
  • Experience with Java 8+ and multiple external Java frameworks is a plus (such a Spring).
  • Experience with Messaging BUS/ Brokers like: IBM MQ, Kafka, Redis
  • Experience working with Realtime, high availability and low latency systems.
  • Experience with RDBMS Systems Server (Oracle, MySql)
  • Experience working with K8S, rancher and docker, using Linux including related scripting
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to manage stakeholder relations, and work with crossdepartmental teams ability to communicate effectively depending on the audience and build consensus with stakeholder groups.
  • Disciplined in development methodology and familiar with software development technologies and concepts. Good understanding of objectoriented design and design patterns, micro services architecture and high performance, and multithreading techniques
  • Practical experience on agile delivery with deep understating of core agile concepts and practices, and experience with DevOps and continuous delivery and deployment methodologies based off bitbucket, Jenkins.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practical experience in building and supporting trading systems using latest technologies.
  • Experience with TDD / BDD with focus on delivering automated, repeatable testing at build time.
