Payroll Analyst II:

    About the role:

The Payroll Analyst supports the Payroll Manager in all special projects and company initiatives that impact the Payroll Services organization.

The Payroll Analyst ensures standard operating procedures are followed, compliance to all local legal requirements relating to payroll, implements payroll audit processes and methodology, may engage with payroll software provider, and manages payroll efficiency and accuracy initiatives.

Primary responsibilities for this position include pay results validation and confirmation using applied audit principles and designed controls. Develop, manage, and implement continuous process improvement initiatives, standardization, and efficiency goals.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Process time, bonus, commission, and other types of pay files with the payroll system to ensure Canadian Payroll employees are paid on time, correctly, in compliance with all legal and statutory requirements.
  • Manage ad hoc or oneoff payment submissions in payroll system.
  • Validation of all Payroll related reports.
  • Provides reports in relation to the Payroll function to stakeholders.
  • To establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC's Quality Policy, Quality System and the appropriate regulations for the area.
  • Partners with Kronos team to create new pay codes for new business needs.
  • Expert on Payroll System pay rules and how they relate to employee pay, set up new rules and maintain.
  • Training of site supervisors on payroll processing protocols, how to view pay statements and submit payment requests or adjusting entries into payroll.
  • Annual system maintenance, support system upgrades and ongoing testing cycles for payroll system updates.
  • Maintain payroll controls and respond to all audit requests for evidence.
  • Develop nonstandard reports in conjunction with the Kronos and payroll team as required to run the business.

Required qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or 1+ years of related experience, specifically in a Canadian payroll environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to communicate and engage well with internal and external customers.
  • Quick learner with strong business acumen, drive for results, and technical affinity.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment with a high regard for urgency and accuracy.
  • Excel required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Results oriented, excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Strong and clear communication and collaboration skills.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Comfortable with frequent change and ambiguity in a matrix organization.
  • Analytical decision making; problem solving.
  • Ability to deliver against targets and objectives.
  • Know how to work cooperatively and collaboratively as part of a team and with all levels of employees, management, and vendors.

Preferred qualifications:


  • Proficient in French
  • Ceridian Day Force experience
