Quality Control Inspector
E.J. Industries is an Ajax based manufacturing facility looking to hire a full-time QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR to join our growing QC department in the fast paced metal fabrication and welding industry.
Responsibilities include:
- Examine product for physical defects and verify specified dimensions.
- Compare product with engineering FAB drawings or prototypes to ensure correct fabrication and welds.
- Identify and Reject defective parts using tags and completing necessary paperwork
- Distribute and communicate Quality Alerts to appropriate personnel as required.
- Work cooperatively with coworkers to ensure that issues are appropriately communicated, contained and resolved.
- Assist management in developing new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.
- Assist in investigating customer complaints regarding quality and errors, as directed by management.
- Complete detailed Quality Report Forms daily to ensure company standards are met.
- Check that defective material/work is corrected until compliant.
- Review all data obtained during all quality control activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures and confers with production, management and engineering personnel to solve workrelated problems.
- Review and testing of incoming materials to confirm supplier compliance.
- Liaise with Suppliers to identify defective materials and request corrective actions.
- All other duties, as required.
Skills & Characteristics required:
- Must be able to interpret architectural/shop drawings.
- Able to use various measurement tools including but not limited to; Vernier, calipers, tape measure, feeler gauges, coating thickness tester, digital protractor, spectrophotometer.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a quality manufacturing environment.
- Education related to Quality Assurance and/or Project Management is an asset
- Strong organization skills, attention to detail, communication skills
- Health and Safety knowledge preferred.
- Good attendance record
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with 2 coffee breaks and a 30 minute lunch break.
Starting hourly rate to be discussed upon interview. Benefits provided after probation period.
