Overview


The Purchasing Expediter will be responsible for ensuring that all procurement activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

This includes being the main point of contact for the shared purchasing inbox, reviewing orders, pricing, and keeping track of delivery dates.

They will work closely with our purchasing team, suppliers, and vendors to ensure that all orders are fulfilled and delivered on time.


Cores Responsibilities:


  • Monitor and track purchasing orders, ensuring that all materials, supplies, and equipment are ordered, delivered, and received on time
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to ensure that all purchasing needs are met
  • Generate and maintain reports, tracking progress, and ensuring compliance with purchasing policies and procedures
  • Work closely with the Accounts Payable team to ensure that invoices are received and processed in a timely manner
  • Expediting
  • Liaising between Sales and Operations
  • Maintaining vendor quote files within AS400
  • Act as the main point of contact for rush orders
  • Verifying product is ready for pick up before releasing pick up order to operations

Secondary/Less Frequent Responsibilities:


  • Providing information/feedback to the Purchasing Manager on vendor relations
  • Develop relationship with vendors through verbal and written communication
  • Try to identify quantity buy opportunities that may be negotiated where possible, for improved profitability. Alternatively identify opportunities to senior purchaser to establish plan for further negotiation
  • Assist in rectifying shipping discrepancies from vendors

Mandatory Requirements:


  • Years of Experience: 2 with order facilitation and management
  • Software/

System Experience:
Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, MS Lists, One Note - Intermediate Level)

  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing and fast paced work environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Strong negotiation and problemsolving skills

Nice to Have:


  • Business or Communications Degree
  • Experience with AS 400
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Plumbing and Heating Materials and Industry
