- **You're a seasoned project manager with experience managing capital renovations. A strong and thoughtful leader, you excel at building collaborative relationships and supporting teams to deliver results. You understand the needs of maintaining health care services through facility upgrade projects, and work in partnership to integrate clinical requirements into work plans. You also possess good business acumen, and are able to write compelling business cases, functional programs, and briefing notes to secure investment.

What you'll do
***The Director, Shared Services reports to the Executive Director Clinical and Corporate Support Services with BCMHSUS. The Director works within a complex multi-site environment and within the context of the long-range strategic plans for BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services. This role is focused on leading a team responsible for capital facility upgrade projects across our many sites, including the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital, correctional health services, Red Fish Healing Centre, Heartwood Centre for Women and many other leased sites; leads capital planning work; and holds strategic relationships with IMITs, facilities management, BC Housing, and Health Emergency Management BC.

High-level accountabilities include:

  • Maintain performance management processes, monitor and report on deliverables and participate in the development of financial and business planning objectives.
  • Plan and implement required processes and action plans in support of the efficient and effective planning for the site facilities.
  • Monitor contractor service expenditures; lead the negotiation and tendering of contracts.
  • The Director works with senior corporate and contractor representatives to ensure that excellent customer service is being provided and to resolve issues which may arise.
  • Liaise with Senior Leaders to ensure their nonclinical service expectations are being met
  • Lead the identification, planning and implementation of the redevelopment processes.

What you bring

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in a relevant discipline such as management, project management, finance, business planning or health related field, or an equivalent level of education, training and experience
  • 10 years of progressive, related experience with a minimum of 5 years at a leadership level

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to facilitate, negotiate and persuade others.
  • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problemsolving and dispute resolution skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with operations and corporate managers, contractor representatives, and senior management.
  • Demonstrated skill to work with a high degree of independence.
