*Summary*We are currently seeking a Dietary Aide to prepare dining rooms and tables, provide meal service to residents and maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining and kitchen areas.

*Responsibilities*- Prepare and serve meals/beverages using specific sanitation and quality procedures

  • Store stock appropriately in order to maintain cleanliness and prevent food spoilage
  • Accurately record meals served and monitor temperatures of food
  • Clean assigned dining areas using appropriate procedures
  • Observe Health & Safety rules and regulations.
  • Additional duties as instructed by the Cook such as assisting with all aspects of meal preparation
  • Serve meals and transfer food trolleys
  • Adhere to strict cleaning schedules after each meal
  • Ensure correct labelling, storage and rotation of food.
  • Safely dispose of leftover food & complete kitchen closing check.
*Qualifications*- High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Familiar with clinical diets
  • Culinary and/or food service experience in a health care facility an asset

  • Willing and able to work well within a team environment
  • Strong customer service skills; working with an aging population providing customized support and services
  • Able to work quickly and efficiently
  • Willingness to undergo ongoing training
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; willingness to interact with residents.
*Requirements*- Vulnerable Sector Police Screening (over 18 years old)

  • Uptodate Immunizations required in the Seniors Health Care Field (TB skin test, Flu vaccinations, COVID19 vaccinations)
  • Ability to read, write, speak English
  • Food Handler's Certificate (preferred)
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 30+ pounds
*Working Conditions*- Hours of Work: Multiple Shifts including Days/Afternoons/Evenings/Weekends/ Holidays

  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours each day
  • Ability to work with various cleaning supplies and equipment
*Job Type*Part-time with potential for Full-time employment.
