Overview:
Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a part-time (up to 10 hours/week)
High School Engineering Intern in our
The position does not require previous experience, but requires initiative to work independently. A focus on health and safety is required and Geosyntec will provide applicable training based on job responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the maintenance of environmental assessment equipment;
- Order parts and construct environmental sample probes;
- Construct prototype devices using power tools;
- Follow instructions and interact with engineers, geologists, office administrative staff, contractors and construction personnel; and
- Develop an understanding of the consulting profession.
Education and Licensure:
- Currently registered as a student in a local area high school. (required)
- Career focus areas in engineering. (required)
- Authorization to work under provincial laws depending on age. (required)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Outstanding academic credentials and exceptional problemsolving skills. (required)
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work independently. (required)
- Experience with CADD, and/or Microsoft Office. (preferred)
