Position Purpose:


The Guest Services Attendant will ensure that our guests feel welcome by providing a quality guest experience in accordance to the Sheraton Brand Standards, from guest arrival to departure.

Extending warm welcome and cheerful greetings to all guests, providing information, luggage assistance and responding to all guests inquires, and in a manner that reflects our Core Values.


The Guest Services Attendant will also take on the role of a Lobby Host, ensuring that the ambience of the lobby and hotel entrance is in accordance to standards during all seasons.

While assisting all guests requiring transportation assistance, and controlling vehicle flow at curbside and the hotel entrance.


This position has specific emergency response duties, and will be expected to prioritize accordingly to safeguard our guest and hotel property.


Authority

Day-to-Day Operations:


  • Guest Service Attendants will proactively open vehicle and hotel doors and load and unload luggage from vehicles for guests. Providing a warm greeting per Sheraton Standards.
  • Follow the 510 rule, recognize and acknowledge guest from 10 feet away from a guest encounter and at 5 feet smile and offer the appropriate hospitality greeting
  • Luggage assistance is offered at arrival and departure. Luggage is delivered to the guestroom within 10 minutes of arrival or guest is informed of delay.
  • Guest service attendant will offer to explain property services and features as well as room features.
  • Luggage is placed on stand and garment bags hung in closet.
  • Delivery of requested items to guest rooms and hotel patrons
  • Be familiar with hotel events, services and amenities. Current events in the city, restaurants and places of interests.
  • Deliver daily newspapers to club lounge, lobby, restaurants and fitness area.
  • Verify physically all unanswered Wake up calls, by going to the guest room.
  • Offer guests luggage storage, with proper tags and ensuring the right luggage is returned to the guest.
  • Be familiar with tour group information, and handle luggage accordingly
  • Concierge duties such as requested by guests.
  • Responsible for logging and delivery of all couriered packages to the hotel.
  • Provide security for the hotel; by being the eyes and ears of the hotel.
  • Assist during fire alarms and emergencies at the hotel ensuring that the front entrance is cleared of vehicles. As well as any other duties assigned.
  • Keep work area and lobby neat and tidy at all times
  • Luggage carts to be well maintained at all times. Tires, carpeted surface and metal structure (brass or silver) of the cart to be cleaned and polished.
  • Assist with laundry/dry cleaning services.

AM:
bring soiled laundry/dry cleaning down to housekeeping.

PM:
delivery of clean laundry/dry cleaning to guestrooms.

  • All other duties as assigned by Front Office Leadership Team.

Physical Demands for this position:


  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis;
Must be able to push and pull luggage carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
All lifting will be within reason. The employer will make every effort to ensure that the associate is protected from injury (ex. PPE).

  • Ability to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays (as per seniority)

Experience and Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years guest services related experience in a related industry. Previous hotel experience would be considered as asset.

Bilingualism considered an asset.


Education:

High School Graduation or equivalent required.
Hospitality/Tourism/Business degree would be considered an asset.
