WorkSafeNB is seeking Investigations Officers.

Reporting to the Manager, Investigations, you will lead workplace incident investigations with a goal of identifying causes of the incident, finding measures to keep workers safe by identifying training/process opportunities that will promote safety and prevent reoccurrence.

In addition, identify violations of legislation and where appropriate recommend prosecutions before the court or issue administrative penalties.

Manage all aspects of the file with guidance from our regulatory framework and the OHS Act as a representative of WorkSafeNB.

You will communicate findings to stakeholders including injured party's family, affected workplace parties and other agencies.


Your key areas of responsibility:

  • Conducting workplace incident investigations.
  • Participating in legal and administrative proceedings
  • Meeting with injured workers, families, employees, employers, and external stakeholders to provide resources and present information on investigations
  • Reviewing and analyzing plans, standards, manuals, policies, procedures, and directives.
