Description

We are looking for a creative, dynamic, customer and solution focused Production Mechanic to join our APA Team.

Reporting to the Manager, APA, you will be responsible to set up, modify, operate, troubleshoot, and repair several different types of packaging machinery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform initial setup of machine at outset of each shift. This includes inputting predetermined settings and "dialing" in machine for optimal output.
Triage equipment issues. Diagnose malfunctions and perform first line of repair.
Lead efficient and timely equipment changeover efforts.
Perform and follow written setup and maintenance on machines and equipment as per preventative maintenance schedule.
Become an internal expert on machine operation and regularly train and educate operators on proper handling/usage of equipment.
Work with Facility Mechanics and Engineering on machine equipment repair and maintenance activities.
Make recommendation and implement continuous improvement to equipment and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Grade 12 diploma, postsecondary education preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude hands on mechanical repair experience (you're a backyard mechanic).
Proven troubleshooter can diagnose problems and trace to root causes.
Excellent teamwork, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated learner we need someone who wants to learn about our complex production equipment and how to run, maintain, and repair it.
Experience in a manufacturing environment as an operator is an asset.
Ability to work shifts and be on call when needed.

Salary:
From $22.00 per hour
